2013 has started with a host of new projects for Windrush Ecology Ltd. These include an Ecological Impact Assessment of a proposed redevelopment at Culham Science Centre, surveys of Cotswold stone barns near Burford and Kingham in Oxfordshire and an exciting new project within a disused quarry, also in Oxfordshire. The latter promises to develop into a major project including great crested newt surveys, reptile surveys, bird surveys, badger surveys and perhaps even some invertebrate work.
Other new projects include a bat survey and bat licence application for the extension of a property in Hampshire, the bat survey of a detached dwelling near Watlington in Oxfordshire and a habitat survey along a new electrical cable route near Carterton in Oxfordshire.
In the meantime we are preparing for the spring survey season with the purchase and renewal of several bat detectors, as well as cleaning and maintaining our great crested newt traps in preparation for a busy survey period come the middle of March.
